Story
I'm taking part in the Brisbane Marthon Festival 2018 and hoping to raise much needed funds for the Royal Hospital for Women, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital
In May 2017 I was admitted to the hospital when my waters broke at 29 weeks. My little boy Oliver was born two weeks later, 9 weeks prematurely. We stayed in hospital a total of 8 weeks and the care, support end love we received from the doctors, nurses and midwives was just incredible, not to mention life saving for both of us.
Ollie and I are running to raise money for the hospital foundation as our way of saying thank you and to give back in a small way.
I’m running with Sophie Smith, the founder of ‘’Running for Premmies’, a fundraising initiative she started in honour of her beautiful triplet boys who she lost after delivering them prematurely.

Run for Life-Saving Research and Patient Care Help us save lives through the extraordinary power of giving, all while getting fit and having fun with your friends and family. By running and fundraising for the RBWH Foundation, you are providing vital funding to advance life-saving research and patient care.
Each year the RBWH alone treats more than 800,000 patients from throughout Queensland, as well as Northern New South Wales, the Northern Territory, parts of the Pacific Rim and internationally by providing disaster medical support. Clinical and medical researchers based at the RBWH, STARS, Herston Health Precinct and Redcliffe Hospital conduct research with the aim of improving world practice to save and improve lives in most health areas, including: Infectious diseases, including COVID-19, Cancer Care, Mental Health, Regional and Remote areas, Neurological diseases and disorders including stroke, Parkinson’s and MND, Women’s and Babies Health…just to name a few!
