Running for Premature Babies
Story
Running for Premature Babies was founded in memory of baby triplets Henry, Jasper and Evan Smith who were unable to overcome their prematurity. We are proud that their legacy is saving the lives of hundreds of premature babies and offering them a better chance of survival.
We are entering a team in the Brisbane Marthon Festival 2018 to raise much needed funds to save the tiny lives at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
This August, we're all going to be sweating it out and doing our best to complete a gruelling course, but in doing so you'll be making your run count!

RBWH Foundation
Run for Life-Saving Research and Patient Care
Help us save lives through the extraordinary power of giving, all while getting fit and having fun with your friends and family. By running and fundraising for the RBWH Foundation, you are providing vital funding to advance life-saving research and patient care.
The RBWH Foundation raises funds for:
- Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH)
- the new Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service Hospital (STARS)
- many of the world-leading medical research institutes and centres based at the Herston Health Precinct
- and Redcliffe Hospital.
Each year the RBWH alone treats more than 800,000 patients from throughout Queensland, as well as Northern New South Wales, the Northern Territory, parts of the Pacific Rim and internationally by providing disaster medical support. Clinical and medical researchers based at the RBWH, STARS, Herston Health Precinct and Redcliffe Hospital conduct research with the aim of improving world practice to save and improve lives in most health areas, including:
- Infectious diseases, including COVID-19
- Cancer Care
- Mental Health
- Regional and Remote areas
- Neurological diseases and disorders including stroke, Parkinson’s and MND
- Women’s and Babies Health
…just to name a few!

- find a cure for cancer or one of the many other insidious diseases which cost Queenslanders their lives
- continue to investigate COVID-19 treatments and support patients
- provide additional training and education to health workers
- train and education health workers in Brisbane and around the world
