Story
You wouldn't be alone if you don't associate marathons and me very closely. :-) Don't worry - I know my limits, so am running the 10km version! That's somewhere between 20 and 40 times my occasional run for the train in the mornings!
I'm hoping to raise much-needed funds for Mates in Construction, a great charity that works alongside people in the construction industry.
Training progress
I started with a 250m run to the park, and then 500m (there and back), followed by 1.3km around the local athletics track a few times, and, after upping my game to running the gentle slopes of St. Lucia while my son sweats it out in his karate dojo. I'm now confident I can finish the 10km - 2 weeks before the race, so peaking just on time! :-)
So far, the ankle (and big toe) that I broke late last year is holding up. I've reached 4km+2km (run+walk). I need to at least double the running part to achieve my objectives, and make completing the gruelling course (race organisers' words, not mine!) worthwhile for you, me and for Mates in Construction.
It's great to be part of this race and to help a great cause, and I’d really appreciate your support in this endeavour.
